THE LAKE
Art Shanty Projects, 2025

The Lake is an original play co-created by Jax Gabriel, Felicia Cooper, and Lior Perlmuter for the Art Shanty Projects 2025 season. This show follows three young characters, Moose, Loon, and Squirrel as they travel to find the ice skating paradise of their dreams in the land of 10,000 lakes. To their dismay, all they find are lakes melted before Spring has even started! As they look to grieve, honor the old, and dream the new they are accompanied by an ancient Golem and their even older Aunt Ruth. The play concludes with an accordion and vocal rendition of "L'dor Vador" by Rena Branson published in Dayenu's "Rising Tides, Rising Voices: Songs for the Jewish Climate Movement."
